What is PANIO HW02 Series?

PANIO HW02 Series is a modular 8K FPGA video wall processor, video wall controller and splicing server engineered for mission-critical control rooms, broadcast studios, data visualization centers and large multi-display systems. It is available as HW02-3U (6 input-card / 5 output-card slots), HW02-6U (8 input-card / 8 output-card slots) and HW02-14U (20 input-card / 16 output-card slots). Its pure-hardware FPGA architecture avoids dependence on a general-purpose PC operating system, reducing exposure to OS crashes, malware and driver-related bottlenecks.

For system integrators and AV designers, HW02 combines uncompressed 40Gbps internal cross-point bandwidth with single-channel HDMI 2.1 / DisplayPort 1.4 input up to 8K×4K@30Hz, modular mosaic input up to 8K×2K@60Hz, seamless multi-window processing, Genlock synchronization and real-time browser-based control without client software installation.

System FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why choose the pure FPGA hardware architecture of HW02 over PC-based controllers?

PC/IPC-based video wall controllers rely on traditional computer operating systems (Windows/Linux), leaving them vulnerable to blue screens, driver crashes, slow boot cycles, and cyber threats. HW02 uses dedicated FPGA chips for real-time video processing, providing rapid startup, deterministic 60 fps processing and uncompressed non-blocking data routing.

2. Do I need to install client software on operator workstations?

No. The HW02 Series features an embedded Web server. Operators can configure scenes, manage wall layouts, switch sources, and monitor real-time video feeds directly from Google Chrome, Edge, Safari, or tablets without installing any software or plugins.

3. Can HW02 provide real-time input preview and output monitoring?

Yes. Both the Web UI and the Enhanced Control Card support low-latency video feedback. Operators can preview live input sources and monitor the composed video-wall output in real time directly within the browser interface without separate monitoring cards.

4. How does Genlock synchronization eliminate tearing across spliced screens?

When driving fine-pitch LED video walls or large LCD arrays, slight clock drift between graphics outputs causes horizontal tearing. The HW02 Enhanced Control Card accepts a reference blackburst or bi-level/tri-level Genlock signal, locking all output cards to the exact same vertical scan clock.

5. How do the hot-backup modules work during live mission-critical events?

The HW02 system architecture supports hot redundancy for input boards, output boards, and control engines. If a signal cable or input module experiences unexpected failure, the system instantly switches to the designated hot-standby path without interrupting live display canvases.
